Roman village of Pla de Palol
This Roman villa, founded in the 1st century BC, has spent some time debating between survival and disappearance due to the construction of new buildings within its perimeter. Finally, a part of it has been preserved for study and museumisation.
Today, the Pla de Palol Roman villa in Platja d'Aro, is a space that can be visited, allowing us to get a closer look at the daily life of a Roman villa dedicated to working the land and making pottery.
Visit Platja d'Aro
In the heart of Costa Brava
Platja d'Aro is, with Castell d'Aro and S'Agaró, part of the municipality of Castell-Platja d'Aro. It is located in the heart of Costa Brava, and it has more than two kilometres of beach and a group of little coves that complement its landscape. This natural environment is excellent to practise nautical sports, hiking and BTT.
The town also gives us an important cultural and architectonic offer, with places like Roman village of Pla de Palol or the historical city centre of Castell d'Aro, declared Cultural Asset of National Interest.
