Sant Feliu de Girona
The Sant Feliu Basilica, also known as Sant Fèlix, is located in Girona, right in front of the Sant Feliu bridge, one of the main entrances to the old town. Its bell tower has one of the most recognizable silhouettes of the city.
The first references to the basilica date back to the year 882, although the building we can see today corresponds to the construction that took place from the 14th century onwards. This intervention turned the monument into the main temple of the city until the appearance of the Cathedral.
The building was constructed in different stages, so we can appreciate the use of different architectural styles. The main body of the building belongs to the Romanesque style, while the facade corresponds to the Baroque style and the naves and roofs to the Gothic style. This chromatic arch of styles gives great beauty and personality to the architectural ensemble.
