El Rec del Molí beach
Rec del Molí beach is located in a residential area, halfway between the town centre of l'Escala and the ruins of the archaeological site of Empúries. It is about 335 metres long and is mainly made up of fine sand.
The site is very easy to access. There is a car park very close by, and if you prefer to enjoy its natural surroundings, you can also get there on foot by following the coastal path. Rec del Molí beach has several services, such as showers, sun lounger hire, the possibility of practising water sports and it is accessible for people with reduced mobility.

Gastronomy and tradition
The name of l'Escala is known in many corners of the world thanks to the excellence of one of its main industries, the anchovies salting. During your stay, you can visit one of its factories to observe the traditional process of making this product, as well as the anchovy and salt museum.
As well as enjoying beaches and coves such as Cala Montgó, Riells beach or Illa Mateua cove, in l'Escala you can also discover the gateway to the Iberian Peninsula of the Greek and Roman cultures by visiting the Archaeological Site of Empúries.
A few metres from the site is the medieval village of Sant Martí d'Empúries, another highly recommended visit during your stay in l'Escala.
