Coastal Path from Lloret de Mar to Blanes

The Coastal Path connecting the towns of Lloret de Mar and Blanes represents a fantastic excursion to enjoy nature and the magnificent landscape that this corner of the Costa Brava offers. With the recent inauguration of a new section, this route has gained in beauty and convenience, offering a perfect experience for nature and history enthusiasts alike.

The new section of the coastal path from Lloret connects the Gran Beach and Fenals Beach. It covers a distance of 1.310 meters, surprising us with nineteen strategically located viewpoints and walkways that allow us to enjoy panoramic views of the coastline.

In addition to the scenery, this route offers the opportunity to discover a large number of highly recommended points of interest, from the Dona Marinera monument at the beginning of the route to Sa Palomera, the rocky formation that marks the gateway to the Costa Brava.

We begin the journey from Lloret Beach to the Dona Marinera monument, a tribute to the courage of the women of Lloret during the time when they often had to take care of the home and family while their husbands went out to sea. Next, we can make a stop to refresh ourselves at the beautiful Banys Cove, a small and rocky corner highly recommended for snorkeling enthusiasts.

Further along, the Sant Joan Castle invites us to explore the medieval past of Lloret de Mar through the preserved remains of this fortress. This point rises 60 meters above sea level and offers us a fantastic panoramic view. With the new section of the coastal path, we can link the visit to the Castle with the arrival at Fenals Beach, the second largest in Lloret.

This stretch of beach leads to one of the most fascinating places in Lloret de Mar, the Santa Clotilde Gardens, a corner of peace and beauty where time seems to stand still. Here we find one of the main examples of twentieth-century gardens, where nature, landscape, and a remarkable sculptural ensemble are harmoniously combined.

Following the itinerary, we find the Santa Cristina hermitage, a monument built in the 18th century to venerate the patron saint of Lloret. This site also boasts two magnificent natural spaces, Santa Cristina Beach and Treumal Cove.

Upon reaching Blanes, we encounter the next point of interest, the Pinya de Rosa Botanical Garden, a natural space created in the mid-20th century that showcases an impressive collection of tropical plants, particularly cactus.

Before embarking on the final stretch of our route, we will find two of Blanes main historical monuments, the Hermitage of Santa Bàrbara and the Sant Joan Castle of Blanes. From this second point, we can enjoy a fantastic view of the final destination of our route, the rocky formation known as Sa Palomera, located on Blanes Beach.

Arriving at the heart of Blanes and before starting the return journey, we can take a break to enjoy the area encompassing the beach, the port, and the promenade, one of the most touristy spots in this municipality.

The opening of the new section of the coastal path from Lloret de Mar is a fantastic opportunity to follow this itinerary and discover the coastal landscape that connects Lloret with Fenals Beach and Blanes.
