Beaches and coves | Beaches and coves Platja d'Aro
Gran beach
Between the mouth of the Ridaura river and the rock known as Cavall Bernat, we find the main beach of Platja d'Aro. It is made of coarse sand and is more than 2 kilometres long. It is very well located, in an urban environment in front of the town and this makes it easily accessible on foot or by car and it is usually frequented by the inhabitants of the area, especially by families.
It also has numerous services to enjoy a pleasant day at the beach: bar area, showers, lifeguard, toilets, sun lounger hire, mini club and aquatic platform for children. You can practise water sports and take into account that tourist cruise ships often dock here. It is an accessible beach for people with reduced mobility thanks to the access walkways, the adapted toilets and the assistance service for people with disabilities.
It has been awarded the Q for Tourism Quality, the Blue Flag and the Tourism Quality Commitment.
