We will continue until we reach the Plaza Mayor, where an enormous Gothic arch will welcome us to the walled enclosure, there we will find the Town Hall and the Tourist Office. Crossing the Gothic arch, we go up the c. Major where the medieval anthropomorphic sepulchre excavated in natural stone are found (dating from the Visigothic period V-VIII centuries), this street will take us to the Torre de les Hores, a magnificent Romanesque tower from the XI-XII centuries and the oldest and best preserved remains of the Pals castle.

Then we will arrive at the Sant Pere de Pals church, which, at the end of the 15th century, after the Catalan civil war, the building was completely in ruins, until in 1478, by order of King Joan II, they decided to repair it using the castle stones.

Finally, we will arrive at Pedró or Mirador Josep Pla, the name refers to the writer, where we can contemplate the wonderful views of the Canigó, the rice fields, Sant Feliu de Boada, Sant Julià, Palau-sator, the massís del Montgrí and les Illes Medes.

Once the route through the old town is finished, we can continue to discover a more natural part full of vegetation, such as the rice fields of Pals, and know the world of rice cultivation. The route will begin in Molí de Pals, where the history of its construction and its owners will move us.

After the visit is finished and the history is known, we will be able to follow the path around the rice fields and learn about the history and the operation of their machines.

Then we will find the Basses d'en Coll, where the waters of the rice fields end, there we will be able to know different species of vegetation and animals that breed there.
