Les Alegries hermitage

The actual Les Alegries hermitage was the first parish church in Lloret de Mar. It was consecrated in 1079, in the architectural context of Romanesque art. Due to the various alterations that have taken place throughout its history, today the bell tower is the main recognisable element of the original building.

In 1522 the parish was moved closer to the beach, to the new Sant Romà church. From then on, the hermitage lost much of its influence, although architectural modifications and new artistic contributions were made, such as the addition of a Baroque altarpiece and six mural paintings in 1913.

Les Alegries hermitage is a place much appreciated by the locals, who celebrate various events throughout the year, such as the Flower Festival, a day on which the locals decorate the hermitage and the surrounding area with bouquets and floral compositions. It is a highly recommended place to visit during your stay in Lloret de Mar.
